A special update for developers

October 19th, 2009

This is a special notice for the developers who are participating in the Music Hack Day part of Music & Bits.

If you’ve already build something, started prototyping or have an amazing concept and you need help, we’re pretty sure this will increase your chances on all the prices that can be won. It’s worth it,  because Sonos, The Echo Nest and Vodafone are all giving away some really nice prices for the best hacks built. If you want to get a head start, here is some extra information.

We expect more than 80 people attending this part of the day, most of the people who have registered are coders or designers, but we also have some hardware Arduino hackers coming to rapidly hack things together. If you want to do some serious hardware hacking or circuit bending – don’t forget to bring your own tools!

While the day is open for anyone to have a talk, we have an RjDj workshop and a STEIM workshop planned. Also, Vodafone (one of our sponsors), will give a short talk on their new ’360′ service they will launch. You’re welcome to join us here, but feel free to do whatever you want.

We have a lot of start-ups who will be able to support the hack track with API support and other help if you need anything. Check out the links below to find more information on the some of API’s you can use;

- Eric from Soundcloud will be there, more info on their API can be found here

You might also want to check out this Music Feed, The Guardian’s API, Playdar, Boxee and BandsInTown – If you want your API to be in this list, drop us a line and we’ll add you to this blogpost on musicandbits.com, I’ll try to update it as much as possible.

See you on Wednesday! Doors open at 09:30 for the Music Hack Day attendees. The people who only want to attend the conference are welcome at 13:00 sharp (make sure you had lunch prior to that).
