It’s a wrap! Thanks for atending all, we hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did. If you want to know what you have missed, check out Twitter. Make sure you do not miss the photo’s. Also, we will be uploading podcasts of the speakers soon, so stay tuned.

One thing that could be improved next time, was the flaky WiFi. Due to this, the Music Hack Day did not work out as we had planned it. So we decided to extend the Music Hack Day for a month. This means there is still untill the 26st of November to work on protoypes, come up with amazing concepts and build the most awesome mash-ups you can imagine. At December the 1st, we will decide who has won the brand new Sonos S5 Set.

If you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to contact us. If you were there, thanks for attending. And thanks in advance to see the hacks you are building or have build- we’re looking forward to see them. And thank you Vodafone, Sonos and Amsterdam Dance event – for sponsoring the event and helping us in many ways.

This is a special notice for the developers who are participating in the Music Hack Day part of Music & Bits.

If you’ve already build something, started prototyping or have an amazing concept and you need help, we’re pretty sure this will increase your chances on all the prices that can be won. It’s worth it, because Sonos, The Echo Nest and Vodafone are all giving away some really nice prices for the best hacks built. If you want to get a head start, here is some extra information.

We expect more than 80 people attending this part of the day, most of the people who have registered are coders or designers, but we also have some hardware Arduino hackers coming to rapidly hack things together. If you want to do some serious hardware hacking or circuit bending – don’t forget to bring your own tools!

While the day is open for anyone to have a talk, we have an RjDj workshop and a STEIM workshop planned. Also, Vodafone (one of our sponsors), will give a short talk on their new ‘360′ service they will launch. You’re welcome to join us here, but feel free to do whatever you want.

We have a lot of start-ups who will be able to support the hack track with API support and other help if you need anything. Check out the links below to find more information on the some of API’s you can use;

Among other things, we’re proud to announce even more excitement stuff for upcoming Music & Bits. We’re also very happy to now have Vodafone as sponsor of the event. With their support, we’re able to make this event even better than it already was – more on this later…

STEIM will give a hardware demonstration and will be present during Music and Bits the rest of the day to aid participants in their hacking endaevours. Also, TU-Eindhoven will be there to give a demonstration of one of their projects called Jukebugs. These smart, light- and motion sensitive music players introduce a novel way of interacting with large digital music collections, implementing a music search and recommendation engine in a physical product.

To strengthen the Music Hack Day even more, Marc Boon will also attend as a tech-coach to help all hardware hackers. He’s an expert on arduino, RFID and a couple of programming languages you might be interested in.

Check out the updated program and make sure you’ve signed up before attending the event. This is very important because there are only a limited amount of tickets available and people are signing up fast.

Proud to confirm another influential company, who certainly still has a big role in defining the online music landscape. Last.fm turns seven years old this month. Matthew Ogle, Head of Web Product, will give his insight on how Last.fm has grown and evolved despite the challenges faced by online music services in 2009. He’ll touch on lessons learnt along the way, what’s happening at London HQ, and give a sneak preview of some future features and applications. Designers and developers, bring your scrobbling love; Matt will be joined in Amsterdam by Hannah Donovan (Creative Director), and Jonty Wareing (API Developer).

Rumour has it that Hannah will team up with Anthony from Hypemachine to give us some insight on how design plays a far bigger role in the development of successful music platforms.

Stay tuned, more on this later!
